PURPOSE:To obtain a glass tubular bulb which is hardly broken and whose fragments are not scattered when it is broken, by providing both a silicone elastic-body film and a silicone-resin film having a peculiar composition over the outer surface of the glass tubular bulb. CONSTITUTION:The outer surface of a glass tubular bulb 1 is coated with a silicone elastic-body film 2 and a silicone-resin film 3, in that order. The mean composition of the film 3 is represented by Ra<1>SiO4-a: (R<1> is a monohydrocarbon base subjected to no substitution or substitution with either the same base or different base. A is a number of 0.85-1.55.) Here, the silicone-resin film 3 should cover the entire surface of the silicone elastic-body film 2.
