Abstract

PURPOSE: To heat an oil pipe and measuring instruments to maintain their temperature, by using condensate drained from a steam pipe or a steam using machine through a steam trap or a throttle valve means.
CONSTITUTION: The condensate of a steam pipe 1 is conducted to the vicinity of the ground through a drip pipe 4 and drained through a steam trap 5. A drain pipe 6 is fitted on the outlet port of the trap 5 and wound around an oil pipe 3. After the condensate of the steam pipe 1 is drained through the steam (r) trap 5, the condensate heats the oil pipe 3 to maintain its temperature as the condensate flows through the drain pipe 6. In that case, a large quantity of condensate can be retained upstream to the trap 5. As a result, no water hammer occurs and the air in the drip pipe 4 can be easily discharged.
