CONSTITUTION:A polyester, whose main component is ethylene terephthalate that is obtained after it is held for at least 70min under a condition satisfying a formular I and a formular II during polymerization (where T is a temperature deg.C at the inside of a polymerization tank, Tm is a melting point deg.C for polyester, and P is a polymerization pressure Torr), is prepared with titanium compound acting as consolidation catalyst to produce a bottle whose drum part is 100mu or more in the thickness. A polymerization temperature of polyester and a pressure in a polymerizing system are preferably 260-290 deg.C and 7-100 Torr, respectively. Inorganic titanium compound, such as titanium halide, organic titantium compound, such as titanium carboxylic acid salt can be used as the titanium compound acting as the catalyst.
