Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture the captioned material free from breakaway by a method wherein PVC sol is applied on the surface of a pair of preheated forming dies, a thermosetting resin impregnated nonwoven fabric mat is inserted between them and pressed to heating, while said sol is gelatinized to form an epidermis layer and unified with the mat. CONSTITUTION:PVC sol is applied at 50-300g/m<2> through a spray 2 to the surface of one or both of a pair of forming dies 1 preheated to 160-220 deg.C, thereby forming a sol coat 3. Next, a nonwoven fabric mat 4 weighing at 500-800m<2>/g per unit area which is impregnated with 10-30wt% of thermosetting resin coming in phenol resin, unsaturated polyester resin or the like is inserted between the forming dies 1, the forming dies 1 are closed to compress the mat 4 to 1/10-1/20 of an initial thickness, which is pressed and heated for 2-5min, sol is gelatinized to form an epidermis layer, the resin is hardened to unify a core and the epidermis layer in one body thus obtaining an interior material 6 to be used on automobiles.
