Abstract
PURPOSE: To economically manufacture plural kinds of products in various sizes from the same feed stock without causing deterioration of the product quality, by making the rolled size of a rolled material changeable while the rolling work continues.
CONSTITUTION: The thickness, for instance, of the rolled material 2 is designated by either one of aimed screw position signals S1, S2, sent from the setter 3. The signals S1, S2, are inputted to the controller 5 for adjusting the screw position. The controller 5 compares the signal S1 or S2 with the feedback signal S3 and produces and inputs a driving signal 5a to the driver 6 for setting the screw position of the rolling mill 1. The screw position of the rolling mill 1 is detected by the detector 7 which then produces said signal S3. The loop control system comprising the controller 5, the driver 6, the rolling mill 1, and the detector 7, acts in a short time so that the amount of the defective product occurring while changing the product size is reduced by the present control system.
