Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for exchanging and cleaning of capturing members by capturing and depositing the oil smoke with a platelike dust collecting electrode provided opposedly to a wirelike discharging electrode applied with DC high voltage, and oxidation-decomposing the deposited oil smoke with the catalyst bed provided in close contact therewith.
CONSTITUTION: The catalyst bed 7 of the catalysts of a pellet or honeycomb shape of noble metals such as Pt and Pd and metallic oxides such as Mn and Cu contained in a porous vessel 8 consisting of an insulating material is disposed to the front of a dust collecting electrode 2 in close contact therewith, and further a catalyst heating heater 9 is provided to the front thereof. Here, when the oil smoke having contained in air is captured and deposited on the electrode 2, the heater 9 is heated and the oil mist is oxidation-decomposed by the catalytic effect of the catalyst bed 7. The electrode 2 is a metallic screen, punching metallic plate, or foamed metallic plate alone or their laminate.
