Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the speed of the distribution of a developer from a supply developer storage tank to a developer carrier, by supplying the developer via a rotary cylinder body with at least one opening part. CONSTITUTION:Over developing roller 1 and in front of doctor blade 5, a hollow cylinder rotating on supporting shafts 11 and 12 is provided. Cylinder 10 is opened at both end parts and has holes 13 and 14 for toner discharge near one end or both ends. Toner discharged from developer storage tank 3 forms cone 6 on the developing roller and the cone extends from left to right. Providing the hollow cylinder allows the toner to move faster in the cylinder than at the vertex of the cone 9. The perforations may be provided over the whole area of the cylinder and the supply toner may be supplied direct into the cylinder.
