Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:An allylcarboxylic acid derivative shown by the formula I (X is Si or Sn; R1, R2, and R3 are alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl; R4 is hydroxy, alkoxy, or allyloxy, etc.).
EXAMPLE: 2-Ethoxycarbonylallyltrimethyl stannane.
USE: Useful as a reagent for introducing 2-alkoxycarbonylallyl group around an electrophilically center. Useful as an intermediate for synthesizing α-methylene-γ- butyrolactone which is important in synthesizing a natural sesquiterpene or its analog compound having cytotoxin.
PROCESS: In ethanol, dimethyl malonate is reacted with sodium ethoxide to give a reaction product, which is reacted with a halomethylsilane derivative shown by the formula II (Z is halogen) to give a compound shown by the formula III. The compound shown by the formula III is reacted with NaH, and dibromomethane, to give a silane derivative shown by the formula IV, which is treated with KOH in water-ethanol, to give the titled compound shown by the formula V.
