Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance hydrogen releasing and occluding performance, by distributing spongelike or fibrous, porous metal pieces having thermal conductivity and gas permeability in a hydrogenated metal, and thereby promoting releasing of hydrogen gas.
CONSTITUTION: In a metal container 4, spongelike or fibrous, porous metal pieces 10 having thermal conductivity and gas permeability are distributed in the filler layer of a hydrogenated metal 9. That is, porous metal pieces 10 having not only a high gas permeability but also a high thermal conductivity are distributed in the hydrogenated metal 9 filled in the metal container 4, and heat transmitted from a heat exchanger is transferred promptly to the entire portion of the hydrogenated metal 9 through the porous metal pieces 10. Therefore, it is enabled to increase the hydrogen gas releasing speed and also to increase the hydrogen gas occluding capacity.
