Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the signal transmission between the upper stream RS at failed part on the transmission line and the master station MS, by separating the lower stream transmission line at the remote station RS and providing the means connecting the terminal impedance to the upper stream transmission line. CONSTITUTION:RS3a-3n are respectively provided with relay contacts 6a-6n disconnecting the lower stream lines and relay contacts 7a-7n connecting termination impedances 8a-8n. MS2 is always polling the RS3a-3n with a given period and the RS started returns the response signal to MS. If a failure is taken place at the X-mark on the transmission line 5, normal polling instruction signal is not delivered to RS3b. If this instruction cannot be received for a given time, the contact 7b is closed to connect the impedance 8b and to open the contact 6b. Thus, RS3b can receive the polling instruction and when received, the response signal is returned to MS2 with diagnosis OK flag. Thus, at a failure taken place, MS2 detects the abnormity in a short time to enable normal transmission from the MS to the RS at upper stream of failed point.
