Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption of a battery, by amplifying a reproduction signal sent from a recording medium only when necessary. CONSTITUTION:The reproduction signal (a) sent from the recording medium is amplified by the amplifying circuit 1 and then shaped through the waveform shaping circuit 2 to obtain the signal (b). This signal (b) is supplied to a computer. The control circuit 3 is connected to the circuit 1. For the circuit 3, the transistor TR is turned off with reception of the read instruction (c) having a low level with the point (x) set to a high level. Then the circuit 1 is cut off from the circuit 3, and the input signal (a) is amplified and shaped to obtain the output (b). On the other hand, the TR is turned on when the signal (c) is set to a high level with the point (x) set to a low level. Then the output (b) is set to a high level regardless of the input (a). As a result, the power consumption is reduced for a battery.
