Abstract
PURPOSE: To carry out the removal of dust and tar from a coal decomposition gas and recover the waste heat from a high-temperature product gas in the form of steam effectively, by passing the coal decomposition gas through a fluidized bed cooler, a granular bed, a heat exchanger and a tar scrubber in the order mentioned.
CONSTITUTION: A coal gas formed in a gasifying furnace 1 is cooled to 400W500°C in a fluidized bed cooler 4, and passed through a conduit 15, a granular bed filter 16 and separated from dust. The separated gas is then passed through a conduit 35 and cooled in a cooler (waste heat boiler) 36. the recovered tar is directly injected into a tar scrubber 44, cooled, scrubbed, and then separated into a gas and a liquid in a cyclone 47. The gas 48 is then fed to the outside of the system, and the recovered tar 49 is fed to a tar pot 50, cooled in a waste heat boiler 54 and recycled through the tar scrubber 44. The outlet temperature of the waste heat boiler 54 is kept at 150°C or above the prevent the adhesion and coagulation of the tar, etc. The medium particles in the cooler 4 are treated in a regenerating furnace 24 and recovered in a hopper 20 for reuse.
