Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled sheet, which is nonadhesive at ordinary temperature and activated by heat, capable of keeping the adhesive property even after removing the heat source, and prepared by applying a heat-sensitive adhesive composition containing ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, a tackifier resin, a crystallizable plasticizer, etc. to a sheet base material.
CONSTITUTION: A sheet base material is coated with a molten heat-sensitive adhesive composition prepared by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, preferably with a vinyl acetate content of 20W35wt% and a melt index of 20W200g/10min, with (B) 40W150pts.wt. tackifier resin, preferably terpene resin or/and aliphatic petroleum resin and (C) 30W250pts.wt. crystallizable plasticizer, preferably dicyclohexyl phthalate, and (D) 0W70pts.wt. wax, preferably low-molecular polyethylene, to give the aimed sheet. The composition has a melting point of 60W100°C and a viscosity of 5,000W600,000cps at 160°C.
EFFECT: Improved punchability.
USE: A label or seal.
