Abstract

PURPOSE:To clear clogging of a nozzle, by a method wherein a vibrator is positioned making contact with or in promixity of a nozzle of an ink jet head, and said vibrator is ultrasonic-vibrated. CONSTITUTION:A vibrator 1 is brought into contact with the forward end of a nozzle 2 and is ultrasonic-vibrated in the direction of an arrow mark by means of an ultrasonic vibrating means 6. The vibration is transferred to a choked part 3-1 and the pipe wall of the nozzle 2, and the clogged part 3-1 is crushed or is dissolved into ink 3 through the energy of the vibration to be extruded to the outside togetherwith the ink 3. Where the clogged part 3-1 is positioned in a location where it enters into the inside of the forward end of the nozzle, feed of water, ink and the like increases an ultrasonic cleansing effect. Electrostriction element and the like can be used with the vibrator 1 as it is, but it is preferable that the vibrator consists of an ultrasonic vibrator 101 being adhered to a vibrator sheet 102 such as stainless sheets.
