Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a machine pressure resistance of a vibrating plate and also to prevent the reduction in vibration transmission efficiency without using a pressure balance, by a method wherein the thickness of the vibrating plate is set at nlambda/2 (n=1,2...), where lambda is a vibration wavelength of an electrostriction vibrator. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet head body 11, which has a liquid chamber 12 at the inside thereof where ink is fed through a pressurized ink feed pipe 13, is provided with a vibrating plate 15 equipped with an electrostriction vibrator 14 at the back thereof. The thickness t of the vibrating plate 15 is determined by t=nlambda/2 (n= 1,2...), where lambda is the vibration wavelength of the electrostriction vibrator 14.
