Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the exfoliation of the edge sections of a laminate by a method wherein prepregs to which resin is impregnated are laminated, pressing is stopped when they are under a semihardening condition, and they are heated at a fixed temperature under a nonload condition to complete hardening.
CONSTITUTION: A material formed by laminating prepregs to which resin is impregnated is held by a cope and a drag, and preheated for sixty minutes at pressure P3 and at a temperature T3. After preheating, the material is heated up to the first fixed temperature T4, about 100°C, at the rate of 0.17°C/min, being pressed at pressure P2. The material is kept for about 120min at the fixed pressure P2 and the first fixed temperature T4, and changed into a semihardening condition. The material, the prepregs under the semihardening condition, is removed from a mold, and kept for about 240min at the second fixed temperature T5, about 165°C, and for 24hr at a temperature T6 of about 130°C, and completely hardened. Thus, the formation of stratiform exfoliation at the edge sections of a laminate brought to a perfectly hardened condition can be prevented.
