Abstract

PURPOSE: A reinforced prepreg having excellent smoothness and freed from meandering, longitudinal split and disarrangement of drafted fibers, prepared by laying a specific release paper onto one side of a prepreg of resin-impregnated unidirectionally drafted fibers, and laying a reinforcing woven fabric onto the other side of the prepreg.
CONSTITUTION: Onto one side of a unidirectionally drafted fiber prepreg, 0.05W 0.5mm thick, impregnated with 10W60wt% of a theremosetting resin, is laid a release paper, 50W150μ thick, having an elongation of below 0.5% when measured by comparing the length at a relative humidity of 60% with that at absolute dryness, and a basis weight of 70W150g/m2, and then onto the other side of the prepreg is laid a reinforcing woven fabric, 0.02W0.5mm thick, impregnated or not impregnated with a resin similar to the resin used in the prepreg. By use of the prepregs, FRP having good interlayer adhesion and mechanical properties can be produced.
