Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain high-density recording and a good demodulation capability, by separating the serial binary information signal into every (n) bits and by adding the one-bit redundant bit to (n) bits to perform signal conversion of a prescribed algorithm. CONSTITUTION:The serial binary information signal is separated into every (n) bits by (n) clocks [(n) is an arbitrary integer >=4] and is supplied to shift register SR5, and n-bit data is decomposed into subdata SD1-3 (21 23), and SD1 is formed by specific three bits out of n-bit data. Next, SD3 (24) and SD5 (25) are formed by two bits whose bit pattern is formed unequivocally by the bit pattern of SD1. Then, (n+1)-bit data where SD4, SD2, SD5, and SD3 are arranged in order is supplied to the recording medium in the form of bit serial.
