Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent abnormal noise from being generated when the internal pressure of an actuating room exceeds specified pressure by providing preset diaphragms at the oil feed and exhaust passages in a fluid joint, respectively, and making constant the internal pressure of an actuating room in the specified number of engine revolutions.
CONSTITUTION: A fluid joint 1 opposes a pump 11 and a turbine 12 which have blades 11a and 12a, respectively, and forms an actuating room 13 between them. It forms also an oil feed passage 17 which opens in an engine room at the axial center between the engine output axis 4 and intermediate axis 6 and introduces part of engine oil to the actuating room 13 as actuating oil. The actuating oil which was used for the power transmission between the pump 11 and the turbine 12 in the actuating room 13 returns to the engine room through a flow rate regulating valve 7 and an oil exhaust passage 20. In this case, a long diaphragm A whose pressure loss varies depending upon the viscosity of oil is formed at part of the oil feed passage 17. A short diaphragm B whose pressure loss hardly varies depending upon the viscosity of oil is also formed in the oil exhaust passage 20.
