Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a composition which can be rapidly cured with a radical catalyst, active energy rasys such as ultraviolet rays and which is suitable as a structural adhesive or an anaerobic sealant, by incorporating a specific compound having two acryloyl or methacryloyl groups.
CONSTITUTION: A composition is used containing a compound represented by formula I, wherein R1 is H or CH3, R2 is a 2W4C alkyl, A is a bivalent group represented by formula II, III or IV, R' and R" are each H or a 1W4C alkyl and m and n are each 1W8, alone or in admixture with a different polymerizable polymer, an oligomer, a monomer or the like. The composition is polymerize by adding thereto a radical polymerization catalyst or by adding thereto a photo- polymerization initiator and irradiating the mixture with ultraviolet rays at normal or elevated temperature. In this way, there is obtained at a high curing rate, a cured product having excellent adhesion, hardness and flexibility. Furthermore, the composition does not cause chemical injury such as rash during curing and other handling and can provide cured products having high safety, good light resistance and weather resistance.
