Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the move of the article on cutting and thereby cut the article correctly and easily by fitting the thin-wall molded article to a vessel-shaped jig, fixing the former to the latter with pressure and cutting the article under the condition.
CONSTITUTION: After the molded article 1 is fitted to the jig 3, a weight 4 is placed thereon and thereby the molded article 1 is fixed inside the jig 3 with pressure. The jig 3 has an internal shape corresponding to the external shape of the molded article 1, while a reference surface 5 in parrallel to a cut line A is set on the bottom surface thereof. The jig 3 is placed on the smooth guide surface 7 of a working board 6, the reference surface 5 is made to slide on the guide surface 7, and a cutting edge 8 such as a rotating circular saw is made to cut in the molded article 1. Since the cutting edge 8 is situated at the same distance with that from the guide surface 7 to the cut line A and drives the guide surface 7 on a parallel plane, the molded article 1 is cut along the cut line A. In this way, the move of the article on the occasion of cutting is prevented and thus generation of cracks in the molded article is eliminated.
