Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable one workman to easily replace a band saw, by very simply supporting the lower side edge of the band saw on the peripheral surfaces of saw- pulleys for fitting the saw at optional time.
CONSTITUTION: The bottom member 14a of a band saw support 14 oriented toward a pivoted shaft 5 is secured on the tip of an operating rod 13, which rushes into a projection 4b of a solenoid 12. To replace a band saw 9, a moving mechanism 11 is operated so that the distance between pulleys 6, 6 is reduced. At that time, each solenoid 12 is energized to elevate the support 14 to a position just under the periphery of the pulley 6 and work is then effected. As a result, the lower side edge of the band saw 9 is surely supported by the bottom member 14a of the support 14 and prevented from dropping off, only by inserting the band saw downward in between the peripheral surface of the pulley 6 and a side 14b of the support 14. According to this constitution, one workman can safely and easily replace the band saw 9.
