Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the rigidity against the body weight and prolong the service life by fixing the tip end of the front side member to the cross member eccentrically with respect to the fixing point of the cross member and coupling the both members through brackets. CONSTITUTION:The cross member 5 is fixed to the lower part of a radiator support 2 on the radiator grille side 4 by means of spot welding S. The upper flange 5a of the cross member 5 is positioned so as not to pass over the inner periphery 12a of a ventilation hole 12 into the circle of the hole 12. The cross member 5 has slightly bent ends which close notch 14. The tip end of the front side member 1 is positioned on the engine room side 3 of the radiator core support 2, whereas the lower surface thereof is arranged in the same plane with the upper edge of the notch 14 provided in the radiator core support 2 and fixed there by spot welding S. To the lower surface of the front side member 1 is fixed by spot welding S the upper surface 13b of a bracket 13 gripped by a tie-down hook 6.
