Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a paper powder or the like from affecting a photoreceptor, by providing paper powder removing means for adsorbing the paper powder or the like of a sheet of paper electrostatically and removing it on the way of a route for conveying the sheet to the photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:The uppermost sheet of paper on which an image is copied in sheet container 1 with the sheets piled up is forwarded by rotation of feed foller 2 in the direction of arrow A. Paper powder is removed when the sheet passes through a paper powder removing device arranged on the way of a route for conveying it from container 1 to photosensitive drum 3 rotating in the direction of arrow B. This device is provided with insulating teflon-coated, high voltage-applied roller 5 rotating in the direction of arrow C aroung shaft 4; roller 5 absorbs the paper powder or the like electrostatically; the powder absorbed is pressed with squeeze blade 7 in pressure contact with the surface of roller 5, and recovered into paper powder recovery box 8.
