PURPOSE:To reproduce dot gradation faithfully, by preparing a light transmission mask having a black and white reversal continuous gradation image in accordance with a photographic film having a dot image, overlaying this mask on the dot image film, and printing the image on a positive type photosensitive printing plate through them. CONSTITUTION:Photographic film G having a dot image is overlaid on film I for gravure with diffuser H interposed, and film I is exposed to light from light source F through film G side, and developed to form light transmission mask L from film G. This mask L is overlaid on photosensitive printing plate N with dot image film M between them, mask L is irradiated with light from metal halide light source K, and developed to form a printing plate exhibiting halftone dot gradation in which the dot areas of dot positive film M same as film G are reproduced with high fidelity, thus permitting a superior print to be formed without necessity to make the dots of film M smaller, to use a special printing ink in correction printing.
