Abstract
PURPOSE:To regenerate a rusted welding wire without damaging its welding workability and mechanical performance of weld, by heating said wire in a reducing gas and then in an oxidizing gas successively at the specified temperatures. CONSTITUTION:A rusted welding wire are heated at the temperature range of 300-900 deg.C in a reducing gas, such as H2, etc., then the rust is completely removed. The welding wire whose rust has been completely removed, is heated at a temperature range of 200-900 deg.C in an oxidizing gas, such as Ar gas containing 0.1% O2, etc. As the result, any rusted welding wires are reclaimed without deteriorating their quality. Moreover, such reclaimed wire scarcely rusted again.
