Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the proper deflection of the ink particle by a method wherein a detecting electrode is provided at the back side of a guard plate having a slit and said electrode is connected to an integral circuit. CONSTITUTION:The slit 25 is formed between the guard plates 231, 232 and the detecting electrode 24 is provided at the back side of the slit 25. The electrode 12 is connected with the integral circuit 27. When the output pulse level of an amplifier 29b is rising up, the charged ink particle becomes to pass through the slit 25, the output voltage of the integral circuit 27c rises up suddenly, the output of a differential amplifier 28a becomes one (1) and a flip-flop 28b is reset. According to these operations, an AND gate 28c is made OFF and a counter 28e stops the count-up thereof. When a recording operation is begun in this condition, the recording may be effected with a predetermined deflecting amount wherein the maximum deflecting position is corresponding to the position of the slit 25 at all times.
