Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:8-Oxo-1-azaerythnan derivatives of formula I [Y is -(CH2)n- (where n is 0, 1), -O-. -S-; R1-3 are H, lower alkoxy, halogen, hydroxyl; R4 is H, lower alkoxycarbonyl, group of formula II (R5, R6 are H, lower alkyl, phenyl)] and their acid adducts. EXAMPLE:8-Oxo-1,11a-diaza-C-homoerythnan. USE:Analgesic: they have an activity of depressing the central nervous system and especially strong analgesic activity. They are useful as a medicine, because of their low toxicity. PREPARATION:A compound of formula III (R7, R8 are lower alkyl) and an amine of formula IV are heated in an inert organic solvent such as benzene, DMF or dioxane to effect condensation reaction. The product is isolated or not isolated and heated under acidic conditions to effect ring closure, thus giving the titled compound of formula I.
