Abstract

PURPOSE:To make an inspection of pinholes for a sealing packing vessel without accompanying with destruction, by containing the sealing packing vessel to be inspected in a pressure reduced vessel, and detecting movement of pressure responding member in displacement according to the pressure variance in the pressure reduced vessel by means of a differential transformer. CONSTITUTION:A sealing packing vessel 1 is contained in a reduced pressure vessel 2, and the pressure in the pressure reduced vessel 2 is reduced to an arbitrary pressure, e.g., a pressure slightly lower than the atmospheric pressure. With this state, the displacement due to pressure reduction of a pressure responsing member 13 at a pressure guage 12 is detected with a differential transformer 14, the output is amplified with an amplifier 15 and displayed or recorded as a pressure on a display recording meter 16. If pin holes are present to the vessel 1, since the pressure gauge 12 detects a small variance of the pressure caused in the vessel 2, the presence of pin holes is detected easily.
