Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the reliability of the multi-processor system by confirming the function of each processor by the predictive diagnosis and then cutting off the faulty processor.
CONSTITUTION: The main processor makes all other secondary processors generate the initial setting start indication signals through action indication signal transmission circuit 3, and at the same time initial setting indication signal reception circuit 4 is provided at each secondary processor to receive the start indication signals mentioned above. Confirmation circuit 5 confirms the normalcy of the functions for the main processor and each secondary processor based on the initial setting start indication signals plus the indication signals received. If the fault detection signal is delivered from circuit 5, the faulty processor is cut off from the system. In such way, the faulty processor is cut off from the system based on the result of the predictive diagnosis in order to form the multiple processor system, thus enhancing the system reliability.
