Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable smooth operation without damaging the electric equipment of a power plant by keeping a motor current within allowable values even when static head drops to below a designed value or motor voltage drops.
CONSTITUTION: An allowable input P0 to a motor is calculated by a function generator A5 from motor voltage V and an allowable current I0. Next, a function generator A6 calculates an allowable operation static head HST1 from the allowable motor input P0. Then, a function generator A8 calculates a pumping up quantity Q0 from pump runner performance curves. On the other hand, an adder A1 calculates a static head HST from the water level H1 of an upper reservoir and the water level H2 of a lower reservoir and an adder A7 determines the difference ΔH between the allowable static head and the static head. A function generator A9 issues an instruction BR to close a valve only when the difference ΔH is negative when the pumping up quantity Q0 and ΔH are inputted.
