PURPOSE: To provide unsatd. polyester resin compsn. which produces cured matereial having excellent flexibility and anticorrosive property, consisting of vinyl monomer and unsatd. polyester obtd. from the reaction of specified glycol with unsatd. polybasic acid.
CONSTITUTION: There is provided compsn. consisting of (A) unsatd. polyester obtd. from the reaction of glycol having the formula (wherein R, R' are 2W4C alkylene; m+n=2W10) with unsatd. polybasic acid and, if necessary, satd. polybasic acid and (B) vinyl monomer. Said glycol is obtd. by adding strong acidic or strong basic catalyst to tricyclodecanedimethanol is the absence of solvent or in the presence of solvent which is inert to alkylene oxide, and adding alkylene oxide to the mixt. at a temp. of from 50W200°C. At least 30mol%, preferably 70mol% or more of glycol is used.
