Abstract
PURPOSE: To realize production of captioned forging in wide range of shapes, having small deviation of wall thickness, by using jointly forging machines having large load and large energy respectively, and locally forming by die forging and extrusion process.
CONSTITUTION: To fabricate rear axle housing end or the like of a truck, a bar steel is cut in process (a). In process (b), the shaft part is roll-forged by means of air drop hammer, and the entire body is die-forged, then the shaft part is roughly formed to form with draft, while the other part is formed in the final shape. In process (c), the outer burr of the flange part is blanked out by a press, and the shaft part scale is removed in process (d) and backward extrusion is performed by a hydraulic press to make the shaft part hollow, thus eliminating the outer circumference draft. In process (e), the excess metal in the hole bottom is blanked out by a press to finish the product. Meanwhile, before the backward extrusion, the intermediate ram with pump guide die used also as stripper is operated to coin the forged recess part, and the pump is pushed into the shaft part while maintaining the concentricity of the pump guide hole and product outer circumference.
