Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out fermentation under desirable conditions, by mixing the raw material to be fermented with air, using an equipment comprising a screw blade supported with a frame traversing reciprocally along a trough.
CONSTITUTION: Raw material to be fermented, e.g. cattle dung, etc. is charged into a U-shaped trough 1 and levelled. A screw blade 4 is rotated by a motor 6, and the blade 4 and the frame 2 supporting the blade are traversed forward along the length of the trough 1. By the action of brake mechanisms 8W11, the traversing speed of the frame 2 is restricted to a value lower than the speed determined by the pitch and the rpm of the blade 4 without blake, and the raw material is stirred and pushed backward by the blade 4. The fermentation of the raw material in the trough 1 proceeds under desirable conditions by the thorough mixing with air.
