Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a three-dimensional appearance of decorated plate easily and inexpensively by the procedure in which a thermal plastic resin paint layer is formed on the surface of a base and heated to form softened layer, and then part of the softened layer is selectively heated and the rest is cooled for solidification.
CONSTITUTION: A paint containing a thermal plastic resin is coated on the surface of the base material 1 to form a paint layer and then heated up to more than softening point of the resin to form the softened paint layer 2, where a printed layer is provided as needed prior to the coating. Then, the part 3 of the softened paint layer is heated selectively to maintain the softened state and the rest is cooled for solidification (curing). The solidified portion is shrunk volumetrically, and the softened portion 3 is pulled by its peripheral solidified portion to become the concavity 4. Thus, a three-dimensional appearance of decorated plate can be obtained. If a printed layer is provided in advance, by adding a heat ray absorber in a part of the printed layer and then heating the part selectively by irradiation of heat rays, or by irradiation of monochrome light of a peak wave length matching with the absorption maximum of the color of the printed layer, decorated plate can be similarly obtained.
