Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce labor and raise the accuracy of analysis, by sequentially supplying a single sample vessel containing a powdered sample, to a plurality of work stations located along a conveying mechanism and by dividing and introducing a necessary quantity of the sample at each work station.
CONSTITUTION: When a sample vessel 2 containing a sample is supplied, a feeder tip 6 is attached to the vessel. The vessel is then sent to a work station 3a by a conveying mechanism 20. At the work station, the sample vessel 2 is secured on a vessel holder 12 and then swung by a driving mechanism. When a vibrator 13 is put in operation, the sample vessel 2 is vibrated so that the sample in the vessel falls little by little into a combustion crucible 17 through the feeder tip 6. When it is detected by a weighing unit 18 that the introduced quantity of the sample has reached a prescribed value, the vibrator 13 is stopped and the sample vessel 2 is swung back to the original position and removed. The vessel is then transferred to a next work station 3b by the conveying mechanism 20.
