Abstract
PURPOSE: The graft compolymerization of radically polymerizable unsaturated monomers onto a specific random copolymer is effected to produce title dispersion having high water resistance, adhesion and electric properites.
CONSTITUTION: An unsaturated peroxy carbonate (a) of formula I(R1 is H, 1W 4C alkyl; R2, R3 are 1W4C alkyl; R4 is 1W12C alcyl, 3W12C cycloalkyl) and 0.01W 30 wt% of a monofunctional nonconjugated monomer (b) with an Alfrey-Price Value, Q of less than 2 are radically copolymerized to form a random compolymer (A) consisting of the structure unit of formula II and -[A]- (A is the structure unit originating form monomer (b)) and having the peroxycarbonate group of 5W12hr half time at 105°C. The resulting random copolymer (A) is dissolved in a solvent and the a radically polymerizable unsaturated monomer (B) that forms the polymer chains insoluble in the above solvent is grafted onto the copolymer (A).
