Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent fiber from being cut at the notch portion by a method wherein the hollow pipe base material obtained from the fiber reinforced composite material wound around a mandrel with the protruding pin inserted in the mandrel in the radius direction thereof is cut crosswise through the pin hole.
CONSTITUTION: Each pin 7 is fitted at the mandrel 8 in the radius direction thereof protruding from the mandrel; and avoiding the pin, the fiber 6, which passes through the fluid composite material and is impregnated with the composite material, is wound around the mandrel 8 making it reciprocate in the axial direction of the mandrel. Accelerating the hardening by heating the composite material impregnated in the fiber 6, the hollow pipe base material 9 is molded. Next thereto, each pin is pulled out of the mandrel 8 and the mandrel 8 is pulled out of the base material 9. Then, in the face 11 which passes through the hole 10 possessing the shape same as the section shape thereof in the place corresponding to the pin, the hollow pipe base material 9 is cut crosswise in order that the hollow pipe 1 may have the specified length and have the notch 4 at the end face of the pipe 1. The fiber 6 entirely makes a detour of the notch 4 and stretches itself along the end face of the pipe 1.
