Abstract

PURPOSE: To hold constant a voltage applied to a stabilizing circuit by varying the conduction angle of a thyristor in use.
CONSTITUTION: An alternating-current voltage is full-wave-rectified by diodes 14 and 15 and generated at point P. Transistor element 16 is ON in a period of a positive half wave and OFF in the other period to turn element 17 ON-OFF in both periods, and consequently a saw-tooth wave voltage is developed across charge- discharge capacitor 18 and then applied across element 23 of comparator circuit 22. When a difference voltage across stabilizing circuit 20 is below a fixed value, difference voltage detecting element 10 and element 24 are both OFF and element 23 is ON, and then a saw-tooth voltage applied to it drives element 25 to let thyristor 5 conduct in the whole period. When a voltage at point A increases above that at point B to fix the difference voltage above the fixed value and a voltage higher than the reference voltage of Zener diode 7 is developed between resistances 8 and 9, the output of difference voltage detection circuit 6 increases to shorten the conduction period of thyristor 5 and the input of circuit 20 is decreased for compensation by the difference voltage, so that the voltage applied to circuit 20 will be constant.
