Abstract

PURPOSE: To exactly measure radioactive exhaust cloud removing the background due to natural radiation by providing an anemoscope-anemometer in the vicinity of the exhaust cylinder of an atomic facility and separating the measured sampling values of dosimeters disposed to the windward and leeward to identify.
CONSTITUTION: The dose rate measured by a spatial dose rate detector 1 provided at a spatial dose measuring device around an atomic facility is applied to a sampling unit 2. The inputted sampling values of the respective detectors are applied to a wind direction detector 3, which thereupon detects whether the value is obtained from detectors disposed to the windward or leeward. The wind direction is judged by an anemoscope-anemometer 4 provided in the vicinity of the exhaust cylinder of the atomic facility. The natural radiation dose rate is estimated by a dosimeter 5 by the program in the wind direction detector, and applied to an exhaust cloud imparting dose estimating unit 9, which thereupon identifies and remove the background due to natural radiation to thereby exactly measure the radioactive exhaust cloud.
