Abstract

PURPOSE: To substantially reduce the clutch operating force by aligning one end of an auxiliary spring, the center of turning of the auxiliary spring and the center of a clutch operating arm when the clutch is connected.
CONSTITUTION: When the clutch is connected, an auxiliary spring 29 and a push lever 25 are positioned as illustrated by continuous lines. The auxiliary spring 29 is expanded to provide the largest tension. One end 29a of the auxiliary spring 29, the center of a pin 30 and the center of a push lever 25 are aligned, therefore, the auxiliary spring 29 does not urge the push lever 25 in the direction to release the clutch and the capacity of the clutch is unaffected by the auxiliary spring 29. As the push lever 25 is turned counterclockwise toward the position as illustrated by long and short dashes lines where the clutch is disengaged, the auxiliary spring 29 is allowed to retract and the line connecting the center of the pin 30 and the end 29a of the auxiliary spring 29 is separated from the center of turning of the push lever 25 and a component of the spring force tends to turn the push lever 25 counterclockwise, thus substantially reducing the clutch operating force.
