Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit the smooth charging of storage battery at all times regardless of the directions of tidal current by switching the output polarity to be applied to storage battery by detection of the output polarity of power generator.
CONSTITUTION: When tidal current turns toward the direction as shown by the arrow mark 31 and the power generator 11 produces a high-plus output voltage, the upper side output terminal 12 of the output terminals 12 and 13 becomes plus, whereas the lower side output terminal 13 becomes minum, the switching contacts 21 and 22 of the switching circuit 17 are set to the position as shown by the full line, and the storage battery 14 is charged smoothly. Also, when the speed of the tidal current is lowered, the switch driving circuit 26 opens the switch 27 and thus the back flow of current from the storage battery 14 to the power generator 11 can be prevented.
