Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a novel fluorescent display tube capable of displaying in brilliant red color with low-energy electron beam excitation, by using a fluorescent material obtained by mixing a conductive material based on stannic oxide and a specific amount of a silver-activated fluorescent material.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of (A) 1pt.wt. of a silver-activated fluorescent material of the formula Zn1-xCdxS:Ag(0.6≤x≤0.9) containing 10-5W5×10-2g of silver per 1g of Zn1-xCdxS, and (B) 14-1/14 parts of a conductive composition based on stannic oxide, is deposited on an anode of a vacuum tube. The fluorescent layer thus prepared is excited by electron beams radiated from the opposite filament.
