Abstract

PURPOSE: To invariably ensure a unidirectional rotation without any dead point through series/parallel change-over driving of a pair of drive windings by connecting both ends of the drive windings arranged in series to a pair of commutators while the mid-point of the windings to a pair of commutators.
CONSTITUTION: This DC motor is composed of a field section 11 for generating two poles of asymmetrical field systems, a pair of drive windings 12A and 12B connected in series, a pair of brushes 13A and 13B for feeding DC power supply, two pairs of commutators 14A, 14B, 15A and 15B divided in four, a pair of diodes 16A and 16B and one governor switch 17. Employing a series/parallel change-over driving, the drive winding provides the following states of driving: the series driving state in which the drive current flows across the terminals of the drive windings 12A and 12B, the state in which the drive current flows to the other drive winding through one therminal and the mid-point 2a of one drive winding and the parallel driving state in which the drive current flows through respective drive windings across the terminals and the connection mid-point 2a of the drive windings connected in series. Accordingly, the unidirectional rotation is possible during the entire one cycle.
