Abstract

PURPOSE: To let the captioned controlling be readily and accurately effected by applying DC micro-voltage between the both welding works and operating timers by the current flowing when the both welding works contact thereby letting upset pressure be acted.
CONSTITUTION: When pipes 10, 17 contact, a circuit 90 closes and therefore a relay 42 acts. Then, a circuit 100 closes and therefore a timer 43 acts and after its set time has elapsed, the output side relay 44 operates and a clutch 46 goes off to cause a brake 47 to act, due to which the rotation of the pipe 10 stops. The operation of the relay 42 causes a circuit 102 to close to operate a timer 49. After the lapse of its set time, a relay 48 operates and therefore coils 50 and 51 change over, by which upset pressure is loaded. Hence, by suitably determining the combinations of setting of the timers 43, 49, the upset timing may be changed as desired.
