Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform molding of protrusions and recesses in one process and form the metal lath of superior antislipping by moving upper blades vertically and laterally while feeding a metal plate being blank forward and giving scores in cooperation with lower blades then stretching and developing the plate.
CONSTITUTION: When the front end edge of a metal plate 9 slightly protrudes from the top front end edge of lower blades 13, the upper blades 17 thereabove descend and the crest parts 17a of the respective upper blades 17 simultaneously bite into the metal plate 9, thereby giving scores in cooperation with the lower blades 13. While cutting the plate with shearing action, the upper blades continue descending while stretching. When they descend by a length of nearly half the mesh 3, the respective punches 21 contact the leading end edge of the metal plate 9 placed on the top front edge of the lower blades 13 and simultaneously bite therein, thereby forming recesses 5 of a suitable depth and forming protrusions 4. Thence, the upper blades 17 and retaining members 19 ascend and the upper blades 17 move in the lateral directions, after which they again descend and repeat the foregoing operations. The top surfaces of the crest parts 17a form the continuous parts 2 of the metal lath 10.
