Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it easy to test under arbitrary temperature and humidity conditions, by connecting No.1 sealed container, which encloses specimens, and No.2 sealed container, which contains sufficient water, by means of a conduit fitted with a switching valve, and thereby forming a humidity resistance testing device.
CONSTITUTION: No.1 sealed container 1 and No.2 sealed container 2 are connected by means of conduit 3 fitted with switching valve 4. Specimen M is enclosed in No.1 sealed container 1. Valve 7 is closed by cover plate 5. No.2 sealed container 2 is filled with a sufficient amount of water, and valve 9 is closed. With valve 4 opened, the whole apparatus is enclosed in constant temperature tank 11 of T1°C. Valve 4 is closed when the inside of containers 1 and 2 attained saturated steam pressure E1 with respect to T1°C. Next, the temperature of the whole apparatus is raised to T2°C. Under this condition, humidity resistance test at fixed temperature T2 and fixed relative humidity RH is operated. In this case, the value of relative humidity RH can be easily measured by using T1 as the temperature corresponding to E1 satisfying the above equation (E2 represents saturated steam pressure at T2°C).
