Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the S/N ratio of a digital spectrophotometer and the accuracy of zero potential input vicinity thereof by pulsating a reference signal and a specimen signal through different V/F converter to be counted. CONSTITUTION:Light from a light source 12 is passed through a spectrometer 1 and then passed through the reference cell R and specimen cell S of a light measuring unit 2 in time division manner, and then converted via a photodetector 4 to an electric signal. The signals R and S are separated by a synchronous rectifier 6 by the signal from a synchronizing signal generator 3 for generating a synchronizing signal upon detection of a timlng of the switching by a rotary sector, and applied respectively to V/F converters 7, 8 having the same characteristics. Then, counters 9, 10 counts the pulse train. Thus, the signals are processed to produce S/R ratio by a controller 11, and indicated in a display unit 13.
