Abstract

PURPOSE: To position an RFAGC control start at the best point by providing a switching method of changing the RFAGC control voltage of a TV receiver between the low-band LB and high-band HB of a received channel.
CONSTITUTION: The output of detection circuit 4 is inputted to AGC signal output circuit 5, and an RFAGC signal outputted from circuit 5 is inputted to channel selection block 2 and VIF circuit 3. Channel selection block 2 consists of an electronic tuner and a detection signal of "0" in case of LB or of "1" in case of HB appears at line 9. This signal turns switching transistor TrT1 ON in HB mode to short resistance R2. An RFAGC control voltage developed at line 10 is adjusted by volume R1 to set the AGC control start point of the AGC signal to a fixed value. At the time of LB reception, the detection signal on line 9 is "0" and TrT1 is OFF to insert resistance R2 in series to volume R1, thereby increasing the AGC control voltage. As a result, the AGC control start point can be set to the best point in LB and HB both, so that the mixing of noise can be prevented.
