Abstract

PURPOSE: Waste water containing emulsion or latex is added with fine silica particulates and coagulated for precipitation and clarification by use of coagulating agent, thereby providing a natural precipitation, clarification means.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water containing emulsion or latex is added with fine silica particulates of average diameter less than 30μ in amount of 0.1 to 2 times the emulsion or latex concentration in the waste water and dispersed. Then a coagulating agent such as sulphate-band is added to cause the resin component in the water to coagulate, forming flock of high precipitation speed. The formed flock is separated either by natural precipitation or filtration, providing colorless, transparent water. Thus, the process provides a solid-liquid separation means, easy and simple to clarify waste water, without using complex combination of coagulating agent and auxiliary coagualtor.
